Welcome to The Peel!

Five years ago, The Peel was established to provide the Appalachian State community with a quality literary arts publication. The founders of The Peel sought to provide an outlet for the overflowing creative talent at this university by exploring, distinguishing, and cultivating the imaginative enterprises of its students. Today, The Peel is more committed than ever to nurturing and celebrating our university's vibrant and active creative community. We strongly believe that Appalachian students deserve a forum for evaluation and informed encouragement, as well as a platform for expressive excellence.

It is my pleasure to announce our expansion from a biannual to a thrice yearly publication cycle. This advancement will allow us to showcase a wider breadth of artistic work, including visual art, literature, music, and dance. We invite you to join The Peel Literature and Arts Review as we continue to learn, grow, and foster the Appalachian creative atmosphere by publishing quality content in an accessible medium.

Our printing issue has been resolved and additional magazines will be available Monday morning! Look for stacks in the first floor lobby of Wey Hall, the second floor English Department table of Sanford Hall, and in the lobby of the library. We will also have copies in the Student Publications Office, located on the second floor of the Student Union, across from the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership. Magazines will be located at the rear of the Students Publications Office.

Thanks to those of you who requested copies of the magazine to be mailed- we will still plan to send these copies unless you contact us and inform us otherwise. In the meantime, feel free to go ahead and grab a copy from any of the above sites!

Again, thank you for your patience. We hope you enjoy the magazine!
